Ghoze El-Teik Hotel was constructed in 1984 in Misurata while exact copies of the hotel were built in other cities Libya. The one in Tobruk called Al-Massira Hotel was renovated between 2008-2010 by TML Construction with Erginoğlu and Çalışlar as the main interior design consultant. Principal of the firm was then the co-ordinator for the project. In this project the client wanted to use the same interior as the Al-Massira but apart from the interior, a whole new facade sheme was requested over the existing one. Currently the only large hotel facility in Misurata with no other building in the region to compete with, the hotel had the potential to be an icon seen from every part of the city. A new facade was designed, inspired by palm tree leaves surrounding the hotel. Translucent steel mesh was used as the main construction material as there were limited budget and glass facade being too fragile in the current environment. There was only one request for the interior which was to redesign the main restaurant.
