A new free zone is being built under the administration of Misurata Free Zone Authority. A new masterplan was designed to oversee the vehicle traffic flow and its organization at the gate area. There is a gate building with facilities to control the vehicles entering and exiting the free zone. The gate building houses security, customs and free zone authority personnel in its upper floors where the vehicle survey and control offices are located on the ground floor. To serve the entrance area a social complex also has been designed next to the gate, there is a cafe, shop buildings, restaurant area and a mesjid for prayers as well as a police station building for free zone area.
